With the Edo State gubernatorial elections just three days away, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is under fire from Nigerians questioning its ability to conduct a fair and transparent poll.
In a X post today, INEC urged citizens to “make their voices heard without resorting to violence” but was met with widespread criticism.
“Would you be truly neutral and allow BVAS and live upload to work?” asked @22betNaija, referencing the commission’s history of disputed elections.
@DailyJusticeAct was more scathing, accusing INEC of being “compromised” and “deceiving the people.”
Other critics pointed to past experiences, citing late arrival of materials and pre-written results in certain locations.
