Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has expressed strong disapproval over the Federal Government’s distribution of rice palliatives to 35 states.
According to him, Kano State, which is governed by an NNPP-led administration, had its share handed over to the All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwarts, rather than the state government.
Kwankwaso described this move as a “gross insult to our constitutional democracy” and accused the government of taking partisanship too far.
He urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately halt the distribution and respect the democratic mandate of the NNPP-led government in Kano State.
Furthermore, Kwankwaso raised concerns about the frequent posting and reposting of State Directors of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano, with three changes occurring within two weeks, warning that this instability is negatively impacting the security of Kano State.
